Alien Inquisition can best be described as experimental, psychedelic rock from Detroit’s underground music scene. Alien Inquisition is a 2-piece original band whose live performances are unique to witness because the drummer, Radar, is the lead vocalist and also plays keyboards live. Jason Helsel performs vocals and lead guitar and does the job of both guitarist and bass player by playing lead and rhythm together.
Alien Inquisition has performed at many venues in the Detroit area such as The Future Gallery, who invited them to become a featured performer; The People's Arts Festival; AJ’s Music Café; and Xcape Con 1 in Flint, which they were personally invited to play at. However, Alien Inquisition is not just limited to Detroit; they are open to requests to play shows anywhere.
In 2007, Alien Inquisition was invited to be in a Detroit Showcase in Liverpool and was also asked to join a tour of Quebec organized by the artist Dubian. In October of 2007, Alien Inquisition was enlisted by Xii.net to be one of their top ten featured artists for the launch of their music site, and in April they were featured in a pod-cast on Music Promo Station. In addition, Alien Inquisition has been contacted by A & R Select regarding representing the band.
Both members have over 15 years experience in performing, recording, and playing music. Releases by Alien Inquisition include “A Dent In the Oblong Triangle” (2005), “Among Us” (2006), "One Way Mirror" (2007), and “Faceless” (2008.) They are currently recording their fifth release, "The New Union."
